About the Profession 

Physical therapists (PTs) are experts in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of movement dysfunction. This involves the clinical assessment and treatment of a wide variety of impairments caused by conditions ranging from spinal injuries, fractures, arthritis, and burns - to amputations, sports injuries, birth defects, and cardiovascular disease. It is an exciting and dynamic profession that serves people of all ages. As integral members of the healthcare team, PTs are engaged in a rewarding profession that can positively influence the quality of life of both the patient and the therapist.
