Who can apply to the UT DPT program?
- anyone who meets the minimum entrance requirements can apply (see Selection Requirements below)
- Enrollment Agreement: The UT Department of Physical Therapy has an enrollment agreement with Bowling Green State University (BGSU) and The University of Toledo. Ten eligible students from each of these two institutions are offered a seat in the DPT program each year. In 2008, the Department will accept a total of 27 students. Eligible applicants from institutions other than BGSU and UT will be considered for the remaining seats. Priority is given to Ohio residents and citizens of the United States.
What are the Selection Requirements for the UT DPT program?
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution; coursework must include all prerequisites (see below)
- submission of current transcripts
- overall postsecondary GPA = 3.0 or above
- knowledge of the profession of Physical Therapy; this knowledge may be obtained by observation of physical therapists in a variety of clinical settings

What are the prerequisite courses?
- Biology (for science majors): 2 semesters or equivalent
- Chemistry (for science majors): 2 semesters or equivalent
- Physics (algebra based): 2 semesters or equivalent
- Psychology: 2 semesters or equivalent
Are any courses highly-recommended?
- Anatomy and Physiology: 1-2 semesters or equivalent
- Biomechanics: 1 semester
- Exercise Physiology: 1 semester
- Statistics: 1 semester

What timeline and costs are involved?
- Applications for the PT program at UT are accepted up to December 1st prior to the year of anticipated matriculation (entrance) into the program (fall enrollment only).
- Applicants must complete at least one course in biology and one course in either physics or chemistry prior to the application deadline.
- A transcript showing Fall semester grades is required with the application for admission.
- Estimated cost for College of Graduate Studies, Health Science Campus: Fall & Spring approximately $4914/semester (Ohio resident) and $9528/semester (non-resident); Summer semester approximately $2793 (Ohio resident) and $5815 (non-resident). Some courses in the DPT curriculum require an additional student fee.
