The Medical Student Council (MSC) is the governing body for medical students and plays an active role in helping to determine school policy and procedures. The Medical Student Council consists of seven elected representatives from each class. Four students, chosen from within this group, are elected to the following positions on the Executive Committee: President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The elections for seven representatives from the first year class are held each fall. The MSC membership also includes representative to the following committees: Curriculum Committee, Years 1 and 2 Curriculum Subcommittee, Years 3 and 4 Curriculum Subcommittee, Library Committee, President’s Committee, Parking Committee, Student Affairs Advisory Committee, Student Health Advisory Committee, and the Information Systems Liaison Committee. The council meets with the Dean’s Staff on a regular basis to give and receive information pertaining to the medical student body.
