The mission of the University of Toledo Office of Student Life (OSL) is to foster the development of leadership skills and professionalism by empowering all students to enhance their academic experience through involvement in the various career specialty, community service, multicultural, and avocation organizations.
In support of the above mission statement, the OSL will provide students the opportunity for personal, cultural, social, and professional development that complement the richly complex and challenging academic life of the health care professional. It further recognizes that UT students are adult, independent learners, committed to making the best use of the institution's resources to achieve their educational goals as contributing individuals of the student body and as responsible citizens and health care professionals in society. The office seeks to uphold the highest standards of good citizenship and personal behavior among students, encouraging integrity, respect, and concern for others.
The OSL will strive to provide a co-curricular experience for students that fosters their development and leadership opportunities that contribute to the academic mission. This will be accomplished through promoting interdisciplinary student involvement in student governance, cultural, intellectual, social, recreational, and leadership activities as well as involvement in student organizations. The OSL will promote and support students seeking positions of leadership in regional and national organizations, conferencing and community service.
