Orientation for the M.D. program will be held from August 18-21, 2008. During this week, the incoming first year medical students will have the chance to meet one another and many of the professors who will be teaching them. Several of the services that the college offers will be highlighted at this time. The students will be given necessary information during presentations from offices such Financial Aid and the Academic Enrichment Center. Social activities will also be held for the students, typically including events like a night at the Toledo Zoo, a BBQ hosted by the Health Science Campus faculty and staff, and a cornhole tournament at a local establishment. The college of medicine looks forward to welcoming all of the new students to the school.
Traditionally, the College of Medicine has sent newsletters to communicate with new students in the months prior to medical school. This year, we are using a web-based communication system instead. The M.D. Orientation 2008 group will improve the speed of communication from the administration to the students, among students, and allow students to make housing arrangements earlier than was previously possible.
