Throughout training, a primary responsibility of senior residents is teaching more junior residents and the students on their service. They are also responsible for the assignment of cases, clinical supervision of medical students and residents, and preparing material for service and teaching conferences.

Morning Report is held daily and allows the residents to present and discuss an educational point from a case admitted the previous night. Discussion is lead by a faculty member and the Chief Medical Resident.

All conferences provide a core curriculum to the resident's growing knowledge base which facilitates preparation for the Internal Medicine Boards and future practice endeavors.
