Building Information
Virtual Tour of Center for Creative Education
The Center for Creative Education is a three-story, 36,000-square foot facility that enables faculty to enhance student learning through the development of innovative, technology-supported teaching modalities. The center is constructed of glass and limestone to complement existing UT buildings and houses:
  • The Center for Creative Instruction, a research and development area that designs and creates advanced technology for education.

  • The Clinical Skills Center, provides for the training and assessment of students and residents in graduate medical education training programs. Live and "virtual" environments with simulated or real patients are configured within the space to permit testing for professional competence.

  • The Academic Testing Center, offers comprehensive support for student testing in UT's College of Medicine, including management of the National Board Examinations (USMLE steps I, II and III and subject examinations) and internally developed examinations. The testing center also supports computerized testing, professional licensure examinations, specialty board certification and other national standardized tests.
The Center for Creative Education is located at the east end of the Health Science Campus's mall and is bordered by a wooded ravine. The center is connected to the Paul W. Block Health Science Building via an enclosed walkway to the north; its main entrance is oriented west of the Block Health Science Building loop drop-off.

Construction of the Center for Creative Education building began Monday, Sept. 24, 2001 at 4 p.m., Watch the ground breaking ceremony with Real Player. The building officially opened in fall of 2003.
